From Around the Web

Baby boomers: Have you had your colon tested recently?

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, and a good time to learn more about colorectal cancer – cancer of the colon and rectum – and how it can be prevented or treated.

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States among men and women. This year, about 140,000 new cases of colorectal cancer will be diagnosed, and 56,000 people will die from the disease.

“Colorectal cancer is a disease that can be prevented through regular screenings, a healthy diet, and regular exercise,” said colorectal surgeon David Rosenfeld, M.D., who is affiliated with Simi Valley Hospital and the Aspen Surgery Center in Southern California.

Simi Valley conference gathers students who aspire to health careers

About 120 students participated in the Health Occupations Students of America’s Ventura County Leadership Conference on Saturday at Simi Valley High School.

Dr. David Rosenfeld, a Simi Valley proctologist who created a YouTube sensation with the “Bowel Prep Shuffle” song, was the keynote speaker. In remarks before he spoke and showed his video, Rosenfeld said he was happy to give his time on a Saturday.

“These are very mature kids for their age, and they have a focus on their future,” Rosenfeld said. “That’s really important nowadays because the competition is tougher than it used to be. They’re well-studied, and they’re focused, and they work together. I didn’t have that as a kid.”

gray-quotation-marksI wish there were more doctors like David Rosenfeld. He and his staff waited for me on late Monday night after they heard about my symptoms on the phone.

The same day, Doctor operated on me, and he has been extremely helpful and professional through the entire post-operational period.
His staff is friendly, i have never had any issues with any of them. David Rosenfeld cares about his clients, and this quality should be considered invaluable these days.
